Our Safeguarding Procedures

Confidentiality and child protection are critical in high-quality support services. All of our therapists who work with children are ACCESS NI enhanced disclosure checked, carry professional indemnity insurance, belong to a professional regulatory body and are required to abide by a professional code of ethics. Additionally, all therapists and counsellors, have been trained in Adoption UK’s two-day Insight and Strategies training for professionals working in adoption. This ensures that they have an awareness of adoption issues such as attachment and developmental trauma, struggles at school, post-adoption depression, secondary trauma, blocked care and the need for parental self-care.
If a therapist or counsellor has a safeguarding concern, they are legally bound to pass this on and activate our safeguarding procedures. By agreeing to our support all families automatically agree to our safeguarding policy.
