Today we at TESSA celebrated Adoption Week with a family fun day to We Are Vertigo.
This was the first time since the pandemic began that we have arranged anything in ‘real’ life for our families, and it was worth the wait.
To watch our adoptive parents connect, with other likeminded parents, who until today were strangers, but who found a kindred similarity on their parenting journey, to the little people, who were able to look around a big play centre and know that every other little person they saw was like them, that held that little extra part to their identity that not many other people get to recognise on the outside.
Today the barriers across adoption, trauma and attachment didn’t matter, today everyone shared a space without judgement, today we were all a family.
